The Jazz Kings kick off their 2023-24 season in October with Glenn Griffith on the podium in Songbook Select and Shirley Andress and her Jazz Kings Christmas ensemble return in December with Snowfall. In February Lynnea Barry returns to lead the Jazz Kings in a long-overdue revisit of the brilliant songs of Cole Porter, Let's Misbehave. And we close our season in May with Vicki Brabham and company in Dearie's Blues, her tribute to fine jazz pianst-singer, Blossom Dearie.
The Emerald City Jazz Kings is the resident jazz & classic American Songbook ensemble of The John G. Shedd Institute for the Arts. The Jazz Kings produce 4 original concerts each year on various themes pertinent to the historic popular music and jazz of the 1920s through ‘50s, with performances in Eugene at The Shedd, and in Corvallis at OSU's LaSells Steward Center.
